Klare rubinrote Farbe mit granatroten Reflexen. Der Duft erinnert an in Alkohol eingelegte Kirschen, Pflaumen, Lakritze, Leder, Tabak, Kakao und Gewürze, inbesondere schwarzen Pfeffer. Im Laufe der Reifejahren kommen noch Noten von Kaffee hinzu. Im Mund zeigt sich der Wein körperreich, schmeichelnd, sehr ausgewogen und mit einem langen Abgang.
