A Modern Vision Born from Passion

Maison Gutowski started from a simple dream. Aline Gutowski, a Franco-Swiss entrepreneur from southern France, launched her first vintage in 2016. She wanted to return to her roots and challenge the idea that rosé wasn't a serious wine. After years of traveling through Provence and researching the best terroirs, she created something special with her partner Grégori. The couple based in Geneva set out to craft a rosé that captured the very best of Côtes de Provence. They're not from traditional winemaking families, but that's exactly what makes their approach fresh. They built their own vision from scratch.

Terroir Selection in the Heart of Provence

Based in Brignoles in the Var department, Maison Gutowski doesn't own vineyards. Instead, Aline focused on meticulous plot selection across the Côtes de Provence appellation. She was fascinated by the mosaic of soils around the Massif des Maures. The vineyards she works with benefit from schistose and silty soils that bring minerality and strength. The old vines grow in a Mediterranean climate with abundant sunshine and cooling sea breezes. Each plot is chosen for how well traditional grape varieties express themselves on specific terroirs. The limestone and clay soils add a mineral quality that defines the wines. Aline collaborates with local winemakers who cultivate their land sustainably, some practicing organic and biodynamic farming.

Winemaking with Respect and Precision

Aline surrounds herself with specialists. She works with AOC Côtes de Provence technicians and consulting oenologists to enhance each juice while respecting traditional know-how. The harvest is done at night to preserve freshness. Each plot is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The pressing is pneumatic to avoid any skin extraction, with no maceration or bleeding. Malolactic fermentation is blocked to preserve a subtle, chiseled acidity. The philosophy is clear: be a custodian of the land for future generations, innovating with respect.

Three Expressions of Provence Rosé

Maison Gutowski produces three rosé wines under the M-G label, all from Côtes de Provence. La Dépendance offers an accessible entry point with expressive floral notes and white fruit. The Grande Cuvée is the flagship, blending Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Rolle from the best terroirs. It shows complexity with floral aromas, peach notes, red berries and beautiful minerality. The Réserve comes from old vines grown biodynamically, offering an expressive bouquet with white fruits and Provençal herbs. These wines have earned recognition, winning gold medals at international competitions and good scores from critics. The minimalist label design reflects their modern, urban vision of wine.
