When you want a Bordeaux that skips the heavy oak and goes straight for the fruit, this is the bottle to reach for. Le Piou par Daugay is Cabernet Franc doing what it does best: pure, silky, and alive.

The nose opens on ripe blackcurrant, lifted by a whisper of violet. In the mouth, that same cassis carries through on a silky, weightless texture, with tannins so ripe they almost disappear. Ageing in amphora keeps the oak out of the way, so the fruit stays front and center.

Pour it alongside grilled lamb or duck confit, or let it soften next to a bowl of mushroom risotto. Serve at 16 to 18°C, no need to decant, just let the glass breathe for a few minutes before you sip.
