Data protection

What we keep is wine. Not your data.

Introduction

We appreciate the trust you place in us by using our services, and we thank you for it. We are committed to respecting your privacy and do everything we can to protect your data.

As a Swiss company operating solely within Switzerland, we comply with the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

By using our website and services, you accept our privacy and data protection policy. If you do not agree, we invite you not to use our website.

If you have any doubts or questions, feel free to contact us by email.

Data collected

We only collect data that is strictly necessary for the proper delivery of our service.

What does that mean?

  • When you place an order, we collect your name, email, delivery address, and optionally your billing address.
  • Credit card data is stored with our payment provider Stripe.
  • During a tasting, we collect the name and email of each participant, as well as your responses, which are needed to establish the ranking.

Why we need to store your data

We share your sensitivity when it comes to data sharing. That is why we only store the information essential to the proper functioning of the application and the ordering process.

During the ordering process, we will ask you to sign in with your email address or a third-party service (Facebook or Google), so that we can then invite you to take part in the tasting experience and so you can share it with your friends. Also during the order, we will ask for your full name, as well as your delivery and billing address, so we can ship the goods to you and keep a correct copy of the transaction.

During tasting experiences, we ask each participant to sign in with an email address or a third-party service, to make sure they can rejoin the session if their browser crashes, if they close the window, or so they can take part in multiple tastings.

While the tasting is underway, we collect each participant's responses in order to show you the tasting trends of other Tasters users.

Access, objection, and deletion

We are committed to granting a right of access and rectification to anyone who wishes to view, modify, or delete data concerning them. For any request, please write to us by email.

As a Tasters user, you can also delete your account and all associated data from your profile.

Security

Our website and databases are hosted in secure environments. Data transmission is encrypted using the HTTPS protocol. All our services are protected by an SSL certificate.

To simplify the experience for our users and increase the security of our application, we do not store any passwords. You can sign in either with your account on a third-party system, such as Facebook or Google, through the OAuth2 protocol, or we send you an email each time containing a link to confirm your identity (passwordless authentication, for those interested).

Third-party services

We use Vercel to host our website and Heroku for our API. Our email provider is Infomaniak and we use OhMySMTP for transactional emails.

Our newsletter is managed with Bento. It allows us to send you the latest offers and new blog posts. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in the footer of the email.

You can also sign in to your Tasters profile through Facebook or Google.

Starting in early 2023, we added the Meta Pixel in order to track orders that resulted from ads we run on their network.

Cookies

We currently do not use any cookies to store your data. On the website, the shopping cart is stored locally, so that it is available across multiple browser tabs and so you can find it again if you don't finish your order on your first visit.

We use the Meta Pixel to know when an order comes from an ad on the Meta network (Facebook and Instagram). Out of concern for your data, we have chosen not to share our website data with Meta.
