About this wine
Château Montrose's second wine is the one you reach for when you want Bordeaux without the ten-year wait. Dame de Montrose grows on the same soil as its bigger sibling, but here merlot takes the lead, giving you a wine that's ready to drink sooner.
In the glass, red fruit leads the way, cherry and redcurrant, carried on a texture that's smooth and almost silky on the tongue. The tannins are there, but gentle, letting the fruit speak first.
Pour it alongside a duck breast or a rack of lamb, and let it breathe in a decanter for an hour before serving, at 16 to 18 degrees.
