About this wine
This 2023 Aloxe-Corton from Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard is a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy's most prestigious villages. It's the kind of wine that shows you don't need a grand cru label to enjoy the elegance and complexity that makes this region so special.
The nose opens with fresh red cherry and raspberry, layered with subtle earthy notes and a hint of spice. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with silky tannins and bright acidity that keeps everything lively and balanced. The finish is clean and persistent, with a lovely mineral quality that's typical of these limestone-rich soils.
Serve this beauty at 16-17°C alongside roast duck, grilled lamb chops, or a creamy mushroom risotto. It's also wonderful with aged Comté or a selection of soft French cheeses. This wine is ready to drink now, but if you're patient, it will reward you with even more complexity over the next 3 to 5 years.
