This Cornas from Chapoutier's Temenos cuvée is the kind of wine that makes you understand why the northern Rhône has such a legendary reputation. Made from pure Syrah grown on the steep granite slopes of Cornas, it's a wine that combines power with elegance in a way that few appellations can match.

The wine shows a deep, almost black color with violet reflections. On the nose, you'll find notes of graphite, black fruit jelly, and bay leaf, with hints of cedar and fig leaves. The palate is generous from the start, with velvety tannins that give the wine a voluminous mid-palate. There's a beautiful balance between freshness and power, with flavors of spices, ripe black fruits, and subtle smoky notes.
