Domaine des Esserts' Aligoté is the kind of bottle you grab on an ordinary weekday evening, no excuse needed. It doesn't try to impress, it just shows up with precision and a bit of charm.
The nose opens on white flowers and orchard fruit, with a soft touch of sweet almond sitting underneath. On the palate it stays dry and taut, the lively acidity carrying the finish well past the last sip.
Pour it with oysters or scallops, or next to a goat cheese salad, and keep it chilled, around 10 to 12 degrees.
