Les Vignobles Invindia
Saint-Hippolyte, Gironde
Les Vignobles Invindia is a story born from a chance encounter in 1987, when Jean-Pierre Derouet met Jean-Claude Bernard, owner of Château Haut-Meyreau. At the time, this 18-hectare estate in Entre-deux-Mers sold only bulk wine. Together, they built a bottled distribution network and gradually expanded the property to over 90 hectares. When Bernard retired in 2010, Derouet and his partner Emmanuel Bouvet took over, continuing the expansion with strategic acquisitions. In 2013, they purchased Château Aurore, a small organic estate in Moulon. The following years brought Château Bellevue Malartic and Château La Vieille Croix in Fronsac, then in 2017 came Château Le Conte in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, an abandoned property with enormous potential that they converted to organic farming. The latest addition was Château Touzinat in Saint-Pey-d'Armens.
A new generation takes the reins
In 2018, Hugues Laborde arrived to lead Vignobles Invindia, representing the third generation after Jean-Claude and Jean-Pierre. This young winemaker from the Gers region brought fresh vision and bold ideas to shake up Bordeaux tradition. He immediately initiated significant changes across the vineyards, cellars and wine profiles. Hugues had 27 soil pits dug to understand each terroir's unique characteristics, choosing the best use for every plot. Since 2020, he works with oenologist Thomas Duclos, whose vision perfectly matches his philosophy. Together, they've revived polyculture practices once common in Entre-deux-Mers, using each parcel to its full potential, whether for vines, orchards or cereals. The estates are either organic certified or in conversion, demonstrating a new, confident approach that challenges the codes of this iconic French wine region.
Wines for pleasure and sharing
Vignobles Invindia manages six estates across three appellations. In Entre-deux-Mers and Bordeaux, you'll find Château Haut-Meyreau, the historic heart where it all began, Château Aurore fully dedicated to organic farming, and Château Bellevue Malartic near Saint-Émilion. In Fronsac sits Château La Vieille Croix, with its rich history marked by generations of women who led it. The Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation hosts Château Le Conte, currently converting to organic, and Château Touzinat with its unique sandy-gravelly terroir. The portfolio spans two distinct worlds: relaxed, contemporary cuvées designed for simple moments with friends, and bold wines that showcase prestigious terroirs. From Nu comme un verre, a pure Merlot Bordeaux that offers a new vision of the region, to l'Éclat range representing the estates' finest parcels, each wine tells a story. The signature is always freshness and terroir identity, never standardization. The goal is simple: create generous wines that bring back the desire to share a glass of Bordeaux with family and friends, putting pleasure at the center of every bottle.
