About this wine
This Barolo Bussia 2010 from Alberto Ballarin is a testament to what patience and tradition can achieve in Piedmont's most prestigious appellation. After more than a decade of bottle age, this wine has evolved into a magnificent expression of Nebbiolo from the legendary Bussia cru.
On the nose, expect layers of dried roses, tar, and leather, complemented by notes of cherry preserves, tobacco, and forest floor. The palate reveals the classic Barolo structure with firm yet refined tannins, bright acidity, and flavors of red fruits, licorice, and subtle spice. The finish is long and complex, showcasing the elegance that comes with proper aging.
Decant this wine for at least 1 hour before serving to allow it to fully open up. Serve at a temperature between 16°C and 18°C. This Barolo pairs beautifully with braised beef, truffle risotto, or aged Parmigiano-Reggiano. It's also an excellent match for hearty game dishes like venison or wild boar.
