This Ribera del Duero Crianza from Bodegas Peñafiel is a textbook example of what Tempranillo can achieve in Spain's high-altitude vineyards. It's the kind of wine that makes you want to slow down and savor every sip.

The wine shows a beautiful cherry-red color with ruby edges. On the nose, you'll find an elegant mix of mineral notes, balsamic touches, blackberries, raspberries, and subtle spice from oak aging. In the mouth, it's lively and well-structured, with a long, fleshy finish that stays with you.

Serve this at 16-18°C alongside roasted lamb, grilled beef, or aged Manchego cheese. It's also wonderful with hearty stews and chorizo. The wine is ready to enjoy now, but if you want to bring out more complexity, decant it for an hour before serving.
