About this wine
This Ribera del Duero Crianza from M. Chapoutier's Dominio del Soto is a concentrated expression of Tempranillo that shows what Spanish winemaking does best. With its 2016 vintage, you're getting a wine that's had time to develop complexity while keeping its vibrant fruit.
The nose opens with intense blackberry and blackcurrant, layered with thyme and mocha notes. On the palate, it's rich and full-bodied, with juicy dark fruit balanced by liquorice and cinnamon spice. The tannins are silky, leading to a long finish where black fruits meet vanilla from the oak ageing.
This pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, roasted red peppers with chorizo, or aged Manchego cheese. Decant for at least an hour before serving at 16-18°C to let it breathe and show its full character.
