About this wine
Jean-Jacques Girard's premier cru is one of those Burgundies that rewards patience. The 2022 vintage shows the classic elegance of Pernand-Vergelesses, with Pinot Noir expressing itself through layers of red fruit and a structure that promises beautiful evolution.
The wine opens with an explosive nose of red fruits in a beautiful Burgundian ruby. On the palate, it's fleshy and harmonious, with firm tannins that will soften with time. As it develops, expect notes of undergrowth and warm spices to emerge, adding complexity to the fruit.
This premier cru deserves thoughtful pairings like roasted duck breast, beef bourguignon, or aged Comté cheese. Decant for at least an hour before serving at 16-18°C to let the wine breathe and reveal its full character.
