About this wine
Alberto Ballarin's Barolo is one of those wines that shows you why Nebbiolo is called the king of Italian grapes. This 2011 vintage has had over a decade to develop those classic Barolo characteristics that make it such a special bottle.
The wine greets you with delicate floral aromas of roses and violets, a signature of great Nebbiolo. On the palate, it's refined and elegant, with soft tannins that have mellowed beautifully over time. The finish is long and spicy, showing the wine's maturity while keeping plenty of energy.
This pairs wonderfully with rich dishes like braised short ribs, osso buco, or aged Parmigiano-Reggiano. Decant it for at least an hour before serving to let it breathe properly, and serve at 16-18°C to appreciate all its complexity.
