About this wine
This Valpolicella Ripasso is a beautiful introduction to one of Italy's most intriguing winemaking techniques, where the wine gets a second fermentation on the dried grape skins used for Amarone. You're getting serious depth and complexity here without the hefty price tag of its bigger brother.
The nose opens with ripe cherry and plum, followed by hints of dark chocolate and sweet spices. On the palate, expect a medium to full body with velvety tannins, layers of red fruit, and a touch of dried fig. The finish is long and warming, with that characteristic hint of almond that makes Valpolicella so distinctive.
This wine is perfect with braised meats, rich pasta dishes like tagliatelle al ragù, or aged cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano. Decant it for at least an hour before serving to let those complex aromas fully develop, and serve at around 16-18°C to get the best out of it.

Very good
A tester.
