About this wine
This is the kind of pinot noir you pour on a Sunday when friends show up unannounced, straight from the historic cellars of Château d'Auvernier on the shores of lake Neuchâtel. Carlos Grosjean's private selection tells the story of a vintage that found the right balance between sun and freshness.
On the nose, cherries and wild strawberries take the lead, with a cool touch of eucalyptus running underneath. On the palate, the tannins are fine, the acidity keeps everything in check, and gooseberry notes slip in before a caramelized finish touched by bitter cherry.
Pour it with a beef fillet or roasted pigeon, and serve it at 16 to 18°C so the aromas can open up properly.
