About this wine
When the first cool evenings roll in and you're planning something with real character on the plate, this is the bottle to reach for. Caves du Château d'Auvernier has been blending Gamaret, Garanoir and Pinot Noir for years, and this 2024 mosaïque shows exactly why that trio works so well together.
In the glass it's dark, almost black at the core, with a violet rim that gives away its youth. Wild berries and a touch of black cherry lead the nose, and on the palate the fruit stays juicy while the tannins add just enough grip to keep things interesting.
Pour it next to a grilled steak or a plate of wild boar, and give it a good half hour to breathe before serving at 16 to 18 degrees.
