About this wine
Humagne blanc doesn't grow just anywhere: this grape belongs to the Valais, and the Roduit-Défayes family has been coaxing it into something special for generations. This 2025 vintage just placed third among Switzerland's best white wines at the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse, so you know the fruit was in good hands this year.
Pale yellow-green in the glass, it opens with quiet notes of white flowers and linden, with a whisper of something exotic underneath. The attack is fine and warm, almost crunchy, and halfway through the palate you feel that signature Humagne grip, a light tannin that gives the wine its own personality. The finish lingers on white fruit, toasted almonds and fresh bread, subtle rather than showy.
Pour it with perch fillets or green asparagus, and it holds its own just as well next to a plate of appetizers. Serve it slightly chilled, around 10 to 12 degrees, to keep that crunchy freshness alive.
