About this wine
This is the kind of syrah you open on a friday night when you want something with a bit of grit, not just polish. Domaine Faury has been coaxing the granite slopes of Saint-Joseph into wine for generations, and Les Ribaudes shows exactly why the family keeps at it.
Wild red berries lead the way, then pepper and spice creep in, giving the wine a lively, almost playful edge. On the palate it turns darker, black forest fruits wrapped in a touch of menthol and licorice that lingers on the finish.
Pour it alongside a rack of lamb or a duck breast, where those spice notes find their match, and let it sit in the glass at 16 to 18 degrees before you serve it.
