About this wine
Lionel Faury works a steep granite slope in Saint-Joseph, and his white cuvée "Les Ribaudes" is the kind of bottle you open when you want to slow a dinner down. It's a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, two grapes that rarely get top billing but earn it here.
The Marsanne brings acacia and honeysuckle, with a touch of almond and hazelnut, and gives the wine its backbone and its precision. Roussanne softens things with hawthorn, green tea and a trace of flower honey, adding width and depth once it hits the palate.
Pour it with scallops or a warm goat cheese salad, and serve it lightly chilled around 12°C to keep those aromas lifted.
