About this wine
Balisca from Società Agricola Gagliole is a Tuscan red that proves you don't need a famous name to find something truly special. This 2016 Cabernet sauvignon shows what happens when a grower respects their land and lets the wine speak for itself.
On the nose, you'll find ripe dark berries with hints of tobacco leaf and a touch of earth. The palate is smooth and well-balanced, with silky tannins that make it approachable without sacrificing depth. There's a nice minerality that runs through the finish, reminding you of the Tuscan terroir where these grapes grew.
This wine pairs beautifully with hearty Italian dishes like ribollita or a simple grilled steak. It's also wonderful with aged cheeses or a plate of cured meats. Serve it slightly cool, around 16 to 17 degrees, and you'll get the best from it. It's a wine that works just as well at a casual dinner as it does when you want something a bit more thoughtful in your glass.
