About this wine
Some Chassagne-Montrachet need years in the cellar before they open up. This one from Hubert Bouzereau-Gruère & Filles is not that wine: it's ready now, and it's a joy to drink tonight.
The nose is perfumed and delicate, all white flowers and orchard fruit, and it seduces you from the first sip. The palate stays fresh and fruity, carried by young vines that give it energy rather than weight, with a precise, clean finish that never feels heavy.
Pour it alongside scallops or a fillet of sole, or let it sit next to a wedge of comté, and serve it slightly chilled, around 12 to 14 degrees, to keep that freshness alive.
