About this wine
Picture a quiet afternoon on the shores of Lake Geneva, nothing fancy, just good company and a bottle you don't have to think twice about. Laurent Berthet has been tending these Lavaux terraces for years, and this 2025 vintage shows exactly why Villette chasselas keeps its loyal following.
The colour is pale yellow with grey and gold glints. The nose opens on honeysuckle, jasmine and linden blossom, then lemon and pear, with quieter touches of banana, chalk and cardamom trailing behind. On the palate it's smooth and balanced, a discreet acidity, finishing on a light bitterness lifted by buttery, mineral notes.
Pour it alongside whitefish or perch fillets, or let it run through a cheese platter, and serve it lightly chilled, around 10 to 12 degrees.
