About this wine
This Morgon Corcelette from Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot is a beautiful expression of Gamay from one of Beaujolais' most prestigious crus. It's the kind of wine that shows why Morgon has earned its reputation for producing some of the region's most structured and age-worthy reds.
In the glass, you'll find dark cherry and blackberry aromas mingling with hints of violet and a touch of graphite. The palate is rich and velvety, with ripe fruit balanced by firm tannins and a mineral backbone that comes from the famous schist soils of Corcelette. There's a lovely depth here, with layers of dark fruit, subtle spice, and a persistent finish that keeps you coming back for more.
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, grilled sausages, or a classic coq au vin. It also works wonderfully with charcuterie and aged cheeses. Serve it at 16-18°C to let all those complex flavors shine. If you want to experience it at its best, consider decanting for at least an hour before serving to soften those tannins and open up the aromas.
