About this wine
This Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard is one of Burgundy's most celebrated white wines, a treasure crafted from Chardonnay grown on the legendary slopes once owned by Emperor Charlemagne himself. It's the kind of wine that makes you understand why Burgundy holds such a special place in the hearts of wine lovers worldwide.
In the glass, you'll find a pale gold color with green reflections that evolves to amber and deeper yellow tones as it ages. The bouquet is infinitely delicate, revealing baked apple, citrus fruits, linden blossom, fern, and flint on buttery notes, often complemented by hints of honey. On the palate, this Chardonnay is vibrantly rich, surprising you with its concentration, nobility, and perfect balance.
Pair this beauty with lobster thermidor, turbot in beurre blanc, or a classic coq au vin made with white wine. Decant for at least an hour before serving to let it breathe, and serve at a temperature between 12°C and 14°C to fully appreciate its complexity.
