About this wine
This Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard is one of Burgundy's most prestigious white wines, grown on the legendary hillside once owned by Emperor Charlemagne himself. It's a wine that combines power with elegance, perfect for those special moments when you want something truly exceptional.
In the glass, you'll find a pale golden color with green reflections. The nose reveals delicate aromas of baked apple, citrus fruits, linden blossom, and a distinctive flinty minerality, with subtle notes of butter and honey. On the palate, this Chardonnay shows remarkable concentration and richness, balanced by vibrant acidity and impressive length.
This wine pairs beautifully with lobster, scallops, or creamy poultry dishes like poulet de Bresse à la crème. Decant it for at least 1 hour before serving to let it breathe, and serve at a temperature between 12°C and 14°C. If you have the patience, this Grand Cru will reward cellaring for 10 to 15 years.
